25.-28. Jan.: Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Ho Chi Minh ist nach wie vor die Hauptstadt des Südens und sehr belebt. Auf den Straßen sammeln sich tausende von Rollern. Das überqueren der Straße wird somit zum Spiel "komm mit, lauf weg".
Im Kriegsmuseum spürt man sehr deutlich den Einfluss der Regierung. Es wird sehr einseitig auf den Amerikanern herumgehackt. Hier etwas über die Geschichte zu erfahren ist unmöglich. Bei der alten Post und der Kathedrale war vor allem die thailändische Gruppe von Mönchen sehr sehenswert.
Nachts bekamen wir den vietnamesischen Kaffee zu spüren. Nach Schweißausbrüchen und einer schlaflosen Nacht ging es an morgens zu den Cu Chi Tunnel. Dieses Tunnelsystem wurde während des Krieges von den Guerillakämpfer genutzt. Sehr getroffen hat uns der Stolz auf die unterschiedlichen tödlichen Fallen, denen mehrere tausend Amerikaner zu Opfer fielen.

Ho Chi Minh City is still the capital city of the South and very busy.
On the street you can find thousands of scooters. To cross the Street you've to play the game "follow me, run away".
In the war museum you realise the influence of the government. It's one sided, they only blame the americans. To learn something about the history is almost impossible. At the old post office and the cathedral the most interesting thing was the group of thai-monks.
During the night we felt the vietnamese coffee. After a sleepless night we went to the Cu Chi tunnels in the morning. This tunnel system was used by the guerillas during the war. It was sad to see the pride of the employees about all the deathly traps. Thousands of americans died due to them.
